Land Rover is not only an off-road-ready brand, but it’s also a luxury SUV brand. And within the Land Rover lineup is the four-member Range Rover family, starting at $42,650 MSRP with the Evoque and going up to a starting price of $90,900 MSRP with the flagship Range Rover model:

The Jeep SUV lineup starts with the Jeep Compass at $21,845 MSRP and ends with the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which starts at $32,240 MSRP. There is also a truck in the Jeep lineup now–the Jeep Gladiator–but for comparison purposes, here we’re only looking at SUVs:

Range Rover Off-Road Features

  • Range Rover Towing: Both the Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport offer 7,716 pounds towing capacity. Features include Advanced Tow Assist, Trailer Stability Assist, and Rear Height Adjust.
  • ClearSight Ground View: “See through” the hood to the ground below and ahead, via a display on your touchscreen–especially handy on a steep incline.
  • Terrain Response® 2: Seven driving modes: Dynamic, Eco, Comfort, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud and Ruts, Sand, and Rock Crawl.
  • All-Terrain Progress Control: Maintain a steady speed in low-traction conditions at speeds up to 18 mph.
  • Active Rear Locking Differential: Redistributes power to wheels with the most traction, to recover from/prevent wheel slip.
  • Electronic Air Suspension: Quickly change the vehicle’s height when off-roading, or to make loading/unloading easier.

Jeep Off-Road Features

Jeep Grand Cherokee Towing: The Grand Cherokee has the highest towing capacity in the Jeep SUV lineup, at 7,200 pounds towing capacity, with a Trailer Sway Control system.

  • Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System: Five driving modes: Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud, or Rock.
  • Quadra-Drive II: Rear electronic limited-slip differential can transfer 100% of the traction to the rear wheels if needed.
  • Quadra-Lift® Air Suspension System: Can raise the vehicle for better off-road capability.

Jeep or Range Rover: Interior Features

Range Rover: The Range Rover lineup features luxuries like standard leather upholstery, power-adjustable heated front seats, and available Rear Executive Class Seats. The Executive seats come with a power-deployable center console, heated and cooled seats, rear-seat entertainment, and more. Additional Range Rover features include:

  • InControl® Touch Pro™ Duo 10-inch HD touchscreen with Navigation System and an additional 5-inch touchscreen below it
  • Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control
  • Satellite Radio, HD Radio, Bluetooth®, and a Wi-Fi hot spot
  • Panoramic roof — fixed or sliding, with automatic or gesture sunblind

Jeep: The Jeep SUV lineup comes with standard leather-trimmed, power-adjustable front seats in some models. If you upgrade to a higher trim level with these models, you can get leather upholstery and heated front seats. Additional Jeep features include:

  • 8.4-inch touchscreen with Available Navigation System
  • Dual-zone Automatic Temperature Control
  • Satellite Radio, Bluetooth® connectivity
  • Some models have a sunroof, Wrangler model has a removable top
